Osaka 大阪 | Kyoto 京都 | Nara 奈良

A short list of picks form the three times I’ve been there

🚨 General Tips:

  • Nara, Kyoto, and Osaka are all really close to each other about an hour by regular train at most
  • This region is really famous because of the food, so it’s definitely worth trying as much food as you can

🎏 Osaka

Regarding restaurants I don’t have a lot of recommendations except for…

ToyoLocation

  • Review: I loved this restaurant, but heads up, the line is HUGE. It was even featured on Netflix’s Street Food Asia episode about Osaka. Still, I think it’s totally worth it.
  • By the way, I highly recommend checking out the other restaurants mentioned in the episode. I visited two or three of them, and they were all seriously good. If I’m not mistaken, they’re all in Osaka too.

If you’re into amusement parks, I really recommend Universal Studios, especially for the Super Nintendo World area.

  • Note: You’ll need to buy a special ticket to enter the Mario area, so it’s best to check that in advance!

🦌 Nara

I highly recommend visiting Nara! You’ll find the famous deer wandering around and a massive temple (Todaiji Temple). It’s super easy to do a day trip from either Osaka or Kyoto.

⛩️ Kyoto

To be honest, I mostly know the typical touristy spots in Kyoto, so I’m just going to share a good link with things to do: Things to Do in Kyoto

Tip: Wake up early!
With the recent tourist boom in Japan, Kyoto has gotten pretty chaotic during the day.

I hope this proves to be helpful to someone other than just me!

The Pink Ipê tree, or “Ipê Rosa,” is celebrated for its stunning clusters of pink, trumpet-shaped flowers that bloom in late winter to early spring. This tree, native to Brazil, is a striking symbol of renewal, with its vibrant blossoms often appearing before its leaves.
